Melbourne Psychedelic Dinner - Fundraiser for MAPS & PRISM
Fri. 8 April 2016, 5:30 pm – 10:00 pm AEST
- Join us for Melbourne's Psychedelic Seminar & Dinner -
The first event in Australia dedicated to raising awareness and funds to make psychedelic therapy a legal treatment within Australia and worldwide.
The dinner will be held at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, University of Melbourne. Australia’s leading neuroscience research institute.
We are bringing the Melbourne scientific and psychedelic communities together to help the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) and the Australia-based, Psychedelic Research in Science and Medicine (PRISM) raise funds for research into MDMA-assisted psychotherapy to treat posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
- The Event-
The night will consist of an exciting seminar series from Australian experts in the field of psychedelic research. Following talks, guests will have the opportunity to dine and chat with speakers, researchers, clinicians, and other guests interested in psychedelic science. A time to gather the community, share stories and learn about this burgeoning field.

- Psychedelics as Therapeutic Tools-
It is no secret that psychedelic drugs cast a light within the hidden depths of the human psyche. Yet despite a known efficacy in treating PTSD, depression and anxiety these drugs remain unavailable to those they whom they would benefit the most.
- Tickets & Donations -
As this is a fundraiser the seminar and dinner will be a ticketed event. Any additional donations are encouraged from those able to give. To give perspective, every $50USD received can be used to buy one dose of medical grade MDMA. All funds received will be split between MAPS & PRISM.
Adult: $50 +bf
- Where will my Donation go? -
For the entire month of April 2016, the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) are running a global fundraiser “Global Psychedelic Dinners to fund the final phase 3 trials of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Phase 3 involves the training of 200 specialist therapists to carry out therapeutic MDMA sessions and the purchase of a 1kg of medical grade MDMA. It is the final step before MDMA assisted psychotherapy will be approved by the FDA as a medical treatment.
In Australia, Psychedelic Research in Science and Medicine (PRISM), are seeking to establish Australias first clinical trial using a psychedelic substance. It is vital Australia not fall behind the rest of the world in this important research. Due to the politics surrounding psychedelics neither MAPS nor PRISM will receive government funding nor will major pharmaceutics fund the research as MDMA is off patent.
