You are warmly invited to attend our end Of The Year Event by Lean In Melbourne

Drawing on their extensive experience in law, negotiation and dispute resolution, our speakers will discuss how to approach negotiations and difficult situations in your profession. Whether it is negotiating salary, negotiating deals, addressing workplace bullying, sexual harassment or requesting flexible work hours, there is always an effective way to handle the situation. This is your chance to get advice from our experienced panel members.

Panel Members :

1. Donna Ross (Dispute Resolution Practitioner: Mediator, Arbitrator, Advocate and Business and Legal advisor)

Donna Ross is the principal and founder of Donna Ross Dispute Resolution. She is an international negotiator, an accredited mediator in Australia and New York, and an advocate representing clients in mediations, arbitrations and settlement negotiations.

2. Peter Singer (Negotiation Adviser | Mediator | Facilitator)

Peter Singer is a negotiation adviser to CEOs, Family Businesses and a commercial mediator for numerous government panels and legal firms. He has experience negotiating and mediating in a diverse range of industries, handling impasses, directing negotiations and defusing disputes. Peter is also a lecturer, tutor and coach, to Resolution Institute's national mediation training organisation, and universities, guiding legal professionals in their Dispute Resolution learning. Peter ran a national IT Professional services business (with his 2 brothers) employing over 100 staff and 300 sub-contractors. After selling this business, Peter reflected that he did not handle conflict or negotiations as best as he could. He went on to study a Masters in Conflict Resolution and developed a new business in this area.

3. Emma Starkey (Senior Associate, Employment Law at Maurice Blackburn Lawyers)

Emma has worked in the area of employment law for nearly 10 years. She has a diverse employment background, with experience working for well known national law firm, a government department and as a research associate to the head of an industrial tribunal.

Emma has successfully:

  • assisted numerous women who have been sacked or demoted while pregnant, on parental leave or shortly upon their return to work.

  • assisted victims of sexual harassment and discrimination make complaints to their employer and to State and Federal human rights commissions

  • negotiated a 6-figure exit package for a senior manager who was subjected to bullying in his workplace
