Bring your friends to enjoy a night at the movies and help fund vital cancer research at the University of Canberra (UC).
University of Canberra researcher Professor Sudha Rao and her team are on the brink of significant advancements in the treatment of metastatic cancer. Their research aims to stop the reoccurrence of cancer (initially focusing on breast cancer), improve the effectiveness of existing cancer treatments by combating natural resistance and improve patient care during cancer treatment.
You can help support this incredibly important and ground-breaking work by attending a movie fundraising night at Dendy Canberra Centre on Thursday 16 March from 6 pm – 9 pm. Enjoy a movie (Miss You Already), pre-session drinks, nibbles and a choc top as well hear directly from Professor Rao about her research. A raffle with great prizes will also be held on the night.
The evening will also pay special tribute to Melanie Swan, an inspirational advocate of Sudha Rao’s work on metastatic breast cancer. Melanie’s community fundraising efforts helped raise more than $100,000 for cancer research at UC. The University of Canberra will pay tribute to her on the night by awarding the inaugural Melanie Swan Cancer Research Fellowship.
