❄️ We are constantly moving in rhythm to the cycles, whether we are aware of it or not, it's Nature. At this time, we are welcoming ourselves into the beginning of Winter. We honour the lunar cycle and we find ourselves on the night of the New Moon...

The Winter Goddess represents a time of stillness and going within, it is the season for this. She is the face of death as not everything will be renewed and transformed in the spring. The Goddess of Winter carries the seeds of your dreams, to be nurtured through the darkness so it can grow new roots in the spring.

To my delight, when I tuned into this circle’s “theme”, it was very obvious that it would be about Winter and the Winter Goddess came… There are actually several dieties from different traditions that embody this archetypal energy. Meet Berchta of Germanic, possibly Celtic origins, and Bona Dea from ancient Rome. There’s Skadi from Norse traditions, Beira or Cailleach is the Divine Winter Hag from the Irish and Scottish Celtic people, and Morana the Slavic Goddess of Death and Winter. Peoples from all around the world in their respective traditions would honour the changing seasons, moons with their respective dieties.

When we start taking notice of cycles, we realise we can do things ‘in line’ or ‘in season’. New moons are symbolic of new beginnings, and a good time to be setting new intentions. We are at the change of seasons, moving into the darkness, cold and stillness of Winter - symbolically we can be mindful of what activities we can do in this time.

Katara will facilitate a journey to your inner dimensions and worlds to the soundscapes of her voice, song and frequencies. Our experience will be performed in a ceremonial context, opening a sacred healing space and invoking the supporting energies of the cardinal directions and elements as is the practice in many shamanic traditions. There’s nothing to do except to be open to share and receive, trust in what comes up for you and who shows up for the journey. See you in circle!

How to prepare / What to bring

BRING YOUR OWN YOGA MAT, maybe some blankies if you want. Wear layers or bring something to cover yourself ; the body tends to cool down when in a relaxed state and the last thing we want is to feel cold when we are journeying. We'll get cosy with cacao together (we'll serve a light dose of ceremonial grade cacao).

BRING SOMETHING FOR THE ALTER a talisman or object you want to "charge up" with the ceremonial energy. It can symbolise where you are in your cycle, something special to you now or you're working with such as crystals, jewelry, dolls, trinkets - really it can be anything. (You will take the item back with you).

Kindly refrain from alcohol and other substances, usual advice is not come on TOO full a stomach.

We will start as close as possible to event start time. As it's a circle and we will open the sacred space as a group, doors will close and unfortunately latecomers might not be able to join.
