About this event

The tour begins in the gallery with an introduction to our work and a personal account of our inspirations and aspirations as makers. We then move beyond the ropes and onto the hotshop floor – you will be seated comfortably out of danger - but close enough to feel the heat from the furnaces. There will be a brief introduction to the studio and then we will make one of our signature works as a live glassmaking demonstration. Gourmet platters are served with locally sourced produce on locally made ceramic ware - and beverages are served in our own handmade wineglasses and tumblers uniquely made for this experience.

An invitation is extended to each guest as a hands-on experience to manipulate molten glass from the furnace – it is a simple but meaningful gesture that will give you a real appreciation of the qualities (and complexities) of working with glass directly from the furnace.

Our tour concludes back in the gallery where you will be presented with your own signed Glass Manifesto book. We can post this to you with your glass object that you have made.

Note: This tour requires a minimum of two participants to proceed.
