Meet much-loved Cook and celebrated food educator, Stephanie Alexander, and enjoy a menu inspired by her latest book, The Cook’s Table, and prepared by our skilled chefs as part of the Meet the Chef Dinner series at University House.
Stephanie will be in conversation with her friend and well-known writer, Marion Halligan, to discuss her latest book as well as share some of her favourite menus, most precious memories, and decades of experience in the kitchen. From trips to Peru, Italy and Istanbul to memories such as creating a ground breaking Valentine’s Day menu at Stephanie’s Restaurant and remembering Elizabeth David.
“This book has sprung from my desire to revisit memorable meals often enjoyed in equally memorable locations. Sharing food experiences has always made me happier than anything else. Anticipation is part of this, and that includes planning the menu.” – Stephanie Alexander
Her reputation has been earned through her thirty years as an owner-chef in several restaurants, as the author of 15 influential books and hundreds of articles about food matters, and for her ground-breaking work in creating the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation.
The menu will include appetiser, two-course dinner, tea & coffee and a glass of Clonakilla wine. Stephanie will also be signing copies of The Cook’s Table, during pre-drinks and after the dinner at the Co-op bookstand.
