Description

What’s The Worst Thing That Can Happen To You In A Soccer Match?

Marcus Atkinson is good at math and computer games but he’s absolutely terrible at sport. Unfortunately, his Dad believes that Marcus has a gift for sport – just as long as they can find the right sport!

Thus begins Marcus’s adventures, recorded for our enjoyment in his Diaries, as he tries to become a Soccer Star, Cricket God and Rugby Champ (just to name a few!)

(The author would also like to deny that she has forced her children to play all these sports just to see what can go wrong so that she can write about it!).

The Diary of A … series captures the attention of every child who has ever been good at a sport or really bad at one and is especially appealing to reluctant readers.

Presented in partnership with The Children’s Book Council of Australia (Qld branch)

Shamini Flint lives in Singapore with her husband and two children. She began her career in law in Malaysia and also worked at an international law firm in Singapore. She travelled extensively around Asia for her work, before resigning to be a stay-at-home mum, writer, part-time lecturer and environmental activist, all in an effort to make up for her 'evil' past as a corporate lawyer! Shamini has written many books for children but is best known for her Diary of A... series for kids and her Inspector Singh Investigates series of crime fiction for adults.
