Meditation 6 Week Course: Sound & Silence

Learn the art and techniques of the ancient practice of meditation, which has great value in our contemporary lives. We will explore simple yet profound methods for connecting with the insight of a still and spacious presence within. Practices include body awareness, breath awareness, sitting and walking meditation and restful restorative postures. Suitable for beginners and those who want to refresh their meditation practice.
This course will also feature the use of very simple sound practices, to help us enter naturally and easefully into silence. No musical experience is needed. These simple humming and vowel sounds are easy for everyone to use with surprisingly profound results in helping to gain a relaxed and real connection with inner silence.
Many evidence-based studies have shown that meditation is a wonderful life skill that nourishes our physical, emotional, mental and overall wellbeing. When we fully inhabit the body, we can release our layers of conditioning and rest in the part of ourselves that is spacious, open and naturally awake. From this inner beingness, meaning, direction and inspiration can naturally arise. When we connect with this presence in a genuine way, it can be life-transforming.
This course is suitable for complete beginners and for those wanting to refresh their meditation practice. The first half of the session is guided for those newer to meditation; the second half of the session is mostly silent (unguided) to allow all students to integrate the practice and make it their own.
Students who attend the course are also welcome to attend the following weekly meditation sessions held at One Heart. All these sessions are by donation:

Do I need to bring anything?
There is no need to bring anything to your yoga class as we provide yoga mats and all props. Just wear comfortable clothing - we work in bare feet.
What are my parking options getting to the event?
There is paid parking in St Helier's street opposite the main entrance of the Convent. If you prefer unpaid parking, you can park in one of the surrounding side streets and walk through. Allow 5-10 minutes to walk through and be mindful of parking restrictions.
How do I locate One Heart on site at the Convent?
From the main gate of the Convent on St Helier's street veer right, go past the Convent bakery to the building next door, the Convent Building, which has two white pots with plants in front of the Convent building. Go up the stairs to the first floor, go along the corridor past all the WellBeing practitioner rooms. At the end of the corridor, at the base of the stairs, just to your right, is One Heart.

Do I need to bring my Eventbrite ticket?
No, you do not need to print out a ticket, we will have your name listed as booked for the course you are interested in.
