Background: Drawing from two decades of experience covering academic research ideation to commercialisation, Dr. Abeyratne will describe how the mobile phone revolution has provided the mankind with an unprecedented opportunity to solve tough medical problems affecting every corner of the globe - from remote African villages to the urban centres of the developed world.



Presenter: Dr. Udantha Abeyratne - Abeyratne is an Associate Professor at University of Queensland, and serves as the Director of the Master of Engineering Science programs. Over the last twenty years he has been developing mobile and accessible technologies for the diagnosis of sleep and respiratory diseases. Engineers Australia named him one of the Most Innovative Engineers in Australia 2016.
