The future of everyone's work has much to do with meaning and value exchange and delivery.

About this event

In this Wise Leaders Cafe conversation event, complimentary for Wise Leaders Community Members, my special guest is The Ideas Architect Geoff McDonald.

If you are not yet a member of my community become one simply by subscribing to my monthly newsletter here.

This cafe is inspired by the work of Esko Kilpi. Listen to the short podcast and read the blog post here.

The podcast also references the work of 'Deep Work' author Cal Newport ('meaningful, valuable and rare work') and futurist Gerd Leonhard who have both influenced the topic.

Part of the back story for this cafe is also my signature work of helping to ensure people feel valued, live values and deliver and exchange value.

Learn more about Valued, Values and Value in the first video below and more in the longer second video where I am interviewed by Geoff.

I’ve been privileged to be a member of the peer groups that have workshopped Ian’s last three books including Heart-Leadership. I’ve learned that leading from my heart, speaking from my heart, and then letting my head and hands drive the outcomes is an awesome way to live and to lead.

Jamie Wilson, Victorian Regional Sales Manager, Haymes Paint

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Ian for close to two years in one-on-one and group settings. Ian’s unconventional in his approach (refreshing!) but works to a brilliantly simple yet powerful philosophy that centres around our experiences as human beings (shocking I know!!). He’s a purpose and values-driven mentor and team builder who I’d recommend to anyone.

Chris Pike, General Manager – Culture & Community, Surf Coast Shire Council

I first met Geoff McDonald on a project at Sensis in 2009. I have recommended Book Rapper to several people looking for a quick business fix! Today, I have read his book, 'Done: Why You Fail to Finish Your Projects and What to Do About It.' It includes a variety of practical suggestions for getting things done and future-ready insights to help us understand why we are where we are and how we can improve our motivation, adjust our goals for the outcomes we are seeking, redesign our environment, triage our priorities, develop inner drive and make change stick with keystone and master habits. I agree that our energy is possibly more valuable than our time. Thank you for sharing your collective wisdom Geoff!

Sue Ellison, Independent LinkedIn Specialist

I’ve had the privilege of working with Geoff and Project Passion. Coming up with good ideas has never been my problem. Bringing them to life before the next shiny object grabs my attention has definitely derailed me. Geoff has developed a well thought out programme that is both supportive and challenging. I haven’t had the level of accountability Geoff provides … ever! In Project Passion, Geoff brings together his immense breadth and depth of knowledge, his coaching expertise, his ability to think on his feet and his genuine desire to help entrepreneurs achieve their goals. Well worth the financial and time investment!

Organiser Ian Berry

Organiser of 'Meaningful, valuable and rare work' with special guest Geoff McDonald

Hello I'm Ian Berry, Possibility Activist, Mentoring with heart for leaders with heart since 1990. Plans on a page pioneer. I can help you to advance your heart-leadership meaning you'll have a unique way to thrive in your busines without sacrificing your personal life.

Your people can make or break your business.

I’ve been helping leaders to grow their businesses by getting the best out of their people for more than thirty years.

In that time, the business owners and leaders I’ve worked with have continuously improved how they work and discovered that their people do better work when they feel fully supported.

I’ve had the privilege of working with more than 1000 business owners and leaders, women and men, in over 40 countries.

Leaders like Sarah, who was frustrated by 30% employee turnover and with my help turned the problem around and reduced the number to 15%.

You can read more examples of how I’ve worked with people like Sarah and you to transform their businesses and reach their goals at the testimonials/case studies link at my website.

From 1974 - 1991 I enjoyed a very successful corporate finance career including leading a 100million business unit. I held Branch, Regional, and State manager roles in three Australian states receiving numerous awards for his leadership, development of people, and results.

Since 1991 I've played active roles on the boards of eight diverse organisations and have been instrumental in their sustainable and profitable growth, with one of these organisations (Townsend Building Services) achieving 570% growth in just under 5 years.

My clients include leaders from AVIS/Budget Western Victoria, AXA Asia Pacific, Ballarat Grammar, Ballarat Regional Industries, Bendigo Bank, Bombardier, Cavehill Creek, EMI, Eureka Concrete, Gallagher Bassett, Haymes Paint, Jones Lang LaSalle, Metro Trains, Plan Australia, Oxfam Shop, Queenslanders Credit Union, Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Smurfit Kappa UK, to name just a few.
