Meaningful programming and documentation - An introduction
‘Children are receptive to a wide range of experiences. What is included or excluded from the curriculum affects how children learn, develop and understand the world.’ (pg.9, EYLF) Making effective decisions and documenting meaningfully can be daunting for educators who are new to contributing to documentation and planning processes, and for educators who are documenting and planning with a new age group or in a new setting. This introductory session will explore the development of meaningful programming and documentation, within the context of the planning cycle.
Participants will have an opportunity to
- Explore ways to document children’s learning across all Leaning Outcomes
- Develop a practical understanding of the program planning cycle
- Understand how to plan for individuals, small groups and whole groups
- Identify strategies for contributing to programming as part of a team
