Event description
On Day 3 MDSCxWOW brings you a MORNING EVENT with free coffee up for grabs!

About this Event

Do you ever meet people who would describe the coffee in your hand as “bright and sweet with apricot and caramel”, but all you taste is… just coffee!? “Surely they are making this up”, you say. Well, it is now time to awaken your taste buds.

In the coffee industry, 'cupping' is the term given to coffee tasting. It is one of the best ways to learn about aroma and flavour.

Brought to you by Five Senses, your registration in this session will secure you the chance to taste and critique coffees from different regions of the world. To make sure you are doing it the correct way, you will receive 3 x 100g bags of beans that have been specifically roasted for in the style for coffee cupping FOR FREE!

We’ll start by assessing the dry and wet aroma, followed by the fun part: the slurping and spitting! With some practice, you can identify an Ethiopian coffee just by a sip, and you will understand what people mean when they describe a coffee's aroma and mouth feel, or identify its flavour as fruity or nutty or chocolatey.

This MDSCxWOW event is limited to 100 students, so sign up quickly to guarantee your spot! Registration for this event opens on Thursday 14 May at 10am!

Please note:

  • During sign up attendee addresses are required. This will be shared with Five Senses to allow them to ship coffee to your house if collection from a central point is not available with restrictions. It will not be shared with anyone else.
