Event description
MCQs for Engagement and Higher Order Thinking (Bendigo)

About this Event

Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) are a popular form of short assessment, and can be used in low stakes short assessments to quickly gauge student understanding of key concepts, encourage self -assessment around key tasks, or for summative purposes. Their purpose in demonstrating the required level of understanding influences their design.

This workshop will consider how multiple choice questions might be used to foster engagement and encourage higher order thinking. The presenters will also look at how to develop multiple choice question banks in the Learning Management System.

What to bring...

To make the most of this workshop, please bring along your examples of multiple choice questions, as well as any data you might have on student performance on multiple choice quizzes and on individual items in MCQ tests.
