Event description
A free professional learning opportunity ideally for Home Economics (Design and Technologies) teachers in the South West.

About this Event

ECU’s School of Education is proud to host a free professional learning seminar at our South West Campus. This seminar will introduce primary and secondary teachers to a practical project, linking Design and Technologies, Materials and sustainability, for classroom use.

The aim is to provide teachers with curriculum links to the new Design and Technologies Scope and Sequence, particularly Materials and Technologies Specialisations. You will also be provided with practical sustainable examples. This includes demonstrating how to create a weaved vessel, using sustainable techniques, all of which can be applied in a classroom setting.

This seminar will be facilitated by Sandy Smith, the Home Economics Education Coordinator at ECU, a highly experienced educator with over thirty years’ experience, in the field of Home Economics.

Please do join us at this free seminar. This is a great opportunity to meet other local teachers and build your community of practice.

Certificates of participation are provided to attendees.
