Description

Our masterclasses program is your opportunity to taste test our curriculum.

Delivered from a class that may form your future course, so you can explore which postgraduate option is right for you.

Introduction to the mathematics and science curriculum for teachers

The challenge for teachers is to present mathematics and science content so that our students will leave our classes with an understanding of the ideas and why these ideas are relevant and important. During this masterclass, you will experience a hands-on investigation illustrating how science can be taught successfully, and what problem solving in a mathematics classroom should look like.

You will have the opportunity to speak with Master of Teaching Science and Mathematics students to find out what it is like to be a mathematics and science teacher. During the class, you will also find out about how you can be considered for the $24,000 Eureka Benevolent Foundation STEM Teacher Scholarships - the scholarships are designed to help promote the teaching of mathematics and science in schools, particularly for students in disadvantaged schools.

Presented by A/Prof Judy Anderson.

This introductory class is delivered as part of the Mathematics and Science Curriculum 1 – the first curriculum units of study of the Master of Teaching.
