Event description

Description

A successful garden is more than a selection of plants. It must be designed for the climate, the soil conditions, the welfare of the local wildlife and the needs of the owners especially with regard to its surroundings or 'sense of place'.

Incorporating Australian Natives into the garden landscape is important for many gardeners. This Masterclass has been designed to teach participants the foundations of landscaping with a focus on Australian Native plants.

Learn to use Australian native plants that are suited to Adelaide's climate in different landscapes whilst exploring their use in both traditional and informal garden styles.

Explore how to work with different types of soils, from sandy to clay, learning to work with your soil is critical for a successful garden.

Learn how to work with different garden formats, species selection and on-going maintenance of the different plants to maximise their health and appearance.

There will be a guided tour of the Australian Native areas of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens.
