Masterclass Advanced Propagation, leaf and root cuttings, grafting and budd...
Sun. 20 August 2017, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm ACST
If you would like to learn advanced techniques of plant propagation, the Advanced Plant Propagation Masterclass is for you. An extension of the Plant Propagation Principles & Practices (not a pre-requisite), this class will dig deeper into propagation techniques for certain types of plants.
Techniques covered will move on from general seed propagating and stem cuttings to include:
Leaf cutting: some plants can be regenerated from both roots and shoots from part of or whole leaves and these techniques will be investigated and practiced.
Root cutting: some plants, ones that naturally produce shoots or suckers from the roots, can be propagated by this technique and this method will be carried out on the day
Grafting and budding: involves joining two separate plants so they can function as one, creating a strong, healthy plant that has characteristics of both plants. Several methods will be explored in this masterclass.
