Event description
Corpus Christi Church will open for public Mass, provided we adhere to certain guidelines for parishioners' health and safety.

About this Event

With the commencement of Phase 3 of the COVID-19 Roadmap from the WA government, Archbishop Costelloe SDB has issued new directives.

As of 6 Jun 2020, we are permitted to have a maximum of 100 people at Mass (excluding people required to conduct the service, and with a minimum of 2 square metres per person).

However, we ask that you continue to use our online booking system to register. This is because we are required to maintain attendance records for contact tracing. We also need to manage the entrance areas to ensure physical distancing and avoid a "bottleneck" situation.

Following the directives of Archbishop Costelloe SDB, a maximum of 20 attendees may be present in the church at any given time. For this reason, we have introduced a booking system whereby parishioners may register for the Mass of their choice.

This serves two purposes. Firstly, we are able to collect the names and contact details of attendees in accordance with government regulations. Secondly, we wish to avoid turning parishioners away at the church door when full capacity is reached.

For more information, please take a look at the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) below.

1. How can I contact the parish with any questions?

Please contact the Parish Office by phone (9384 2421) or email (

2. How is the parish taking precautions for my health and safety?

  • Hand sanitisers will be available at the entrance.
  • Parishioners will enter via one door only, and exit via another door.
  • A church usher will take note of your attendance and contact details.
  • Seats will be clearly marked with tape to ensure a distance of >1.5m between people.
  • Seats, seat backs, top rails and kneelers will be sanitised after each Mass.
  • There will be no shared Holy Water.
  • There will be no shared Precious Blood at Holy Communion.
  • Holy Communion will be received on the hand and NOT on the tongue.
  • Collection baskets will not be passed around, but placed near the front of the church.
  • Hymnals and shared copies of text will not be used.
  • Bulletins will be provided but they will not be re-used. Please take your bulletin with you when you leave the church.

3. Do I have to register online if I am an usher, choir member, reader or acolyte in the Mass?

No. Please do NOT register online if you are part of conducting the Mass. You are exempt from the 20-person limit.

4. How does the parish communicate with parishioners?

We send emails to all parishioners on our email list and in the parish census. We also update our website, Facebook & Instagram.

5. What about parishioners who do not have access to the internet?

The Parish Office will telephone all parishioners in the parish census who do not have an email address to inform them of the resumption of Mass.

These parishioners will be able to telephone the Parish Office to make a booking to attend Mass.If you know of any parishioners who do not have access to the internet and are not in the parish census, please inform us.

6. Can I still go to Mass if the event registration is full?

If the Mass registration is full, you will be able to add your name to a waiting list. If there is a cancellation, you will be notified via email. You will then have 3 hours to confirm your registration.

Mass registration will close one hour before Mass. This is so that the usher has time to print a list of attendees. If Mass registration has closed but you see there are fewer than 20 people who have registered, you may decide to go to that Mass. However, we cannot guarantee you will admitted if others do the same.

7. Do I need to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. The church usher will have a list of registered attendees.

8. Is it ok if the name on my registration doesn't match the person who attends?

You can edit the names and details of attendees after registering. Otherwise, just inform the church usher of the change when you arrive at Mass.

9. What if I can no longer attend the Mass I registered for?

Please cancel your registration as soon as possible, so that someone on the waitlist may attend.

10. How can I help?

If you are able to volunteer as a church usher or help sanitise the church after Mass, please contact the Parish Office.

Fr Marcelo & Fr Rodrigo thank you for your cooperation and understanding, and look forward to welcoming you back to church.

However, if you are unable to attend Mass in person, please rest assured the faithful continue to be dispensed of their obligation to attend Sunday Mass. You may continue to watch Mass online or on TV.
