Event description

Description

In a highly competitive property and building environment, today more than ever, architects, interior and professional building designers need to create and implement a structured and consistent way to communicate the value they bring as professionals, and market themselves in a clear and compelling manner to prospective clients.

This 3-hour workshop introduces small to mid-size practices to the benefits of having a clear (written) marketing strategy and plan, and how and why actively marketing a practice is good for business. In the workshop (3 CPD points available) we will focus on the nature, goals and processes involved in setting up a sound, practical (and ethical) marketing strategy and action plan.

Learning outcomes include:

  1. Identify and understand the benefits of a structured marketing strategy and plan for small to mid-size practices
  2. Identify and understand the key elements of a good marketing strategy and business development plan
  3. Identify and understand 3 specific practical steps architects and designers should take to create a workable marketing and communications plan for their practice in 2019-20.

Included is a workbook with workshop notes, group tasks, questionnaires and guidelines for setting up a practical marketing plan and way to promote a small to mid-size practice. There will be an overview and practical tips on social media and optimising digital marketing. We also include an overview of 'offline' / tradional (often overlooked) ways to promote a practice.

Perfect for architects, interior designers and creative people working in the built environment.

Partcipants will work through at least 3 group tasks and leave with a clear printed framework and guidelines for a workable marketingframework and plan for their practices. There will be 3 Formal AACA CPD Points available for architects, with certificates sent to attendees.

The content of this workshop is linked to the Architect's Accreditation Council of Australia (AACA) National Standards of Competency for Architects, and addresses the Unit of Competency of 'Practice Management' and the Knowledge Domain of 'Communications' - Performance Criteria 9.8.

Come along and enjoy a lively 3 hour workshop and learn that it is possible to attract the right kinds of projects and opportunities in a small practice. In the workshop we will reveal which of the 3 Steps in the Marketing Framework is the most important and the step most architects and professional building designers most often fail to do.

Places are limited to 10 people per workshop for best results and group interaction - Book now
