Join us on Tuesday 27th August 2024, for our clinical education session, providing therapists with a guide on how to prescribe and configure manual wheelchairs to maximise independence, function, and long-term health, presented by Sunrise Medical’s Clinical Director, Amy Bjornson.

Learn how to prescribe and configure manual wheelchairs to maximise independence, function, and long-term health while avoiding overuse injuries.

This course is an introduction or refresher course on all things manual wheelchairs. Through trial and interaction, we will cover how different frame styles and set-ups affect propulsion, comfort, and ultimately client function, as well as frame selection and configuration.

Because we know the best learning is hands-on, we'll also provide tips for client measuring, have a go at changing wheel positions on manual wheelchairs, and adjust and modify jay backrests and other seating components to improve posture and function.

You'll have the opportunity to feel how these modifications affect posture and function firsthand.
