Fisher Lane Mobility are excited to present the 2020 Manaul Handling Workshop.

The sessions will take place over approximately 2.5 hours (9:30am – 12:00pm) and will be hosted by Dr Devi Ranasinghe and Michael Coley. A light morning tea will be provided on the day along with a copy of the presentors presentation.

Agenda:

We have spoken to many OT’s around the delivery of content for this workshop. We have created a very hands on eorkshop experience, where you will have the opportunity to get up and get involved while using a broad selection of products to assist in the manual handling of your clients.

  • Safe manual handling experience

  • How to assist with bed and chair transfers
  • When to move to a standing machine or a hoist
  • Assistive technology for every area of the home

Dr Devi Ranasinghe

Devi started her 40+ years nursing journey in Sri Lanka, where she then moved to New Zealand and England concerntrating mainly in Acute Rehab. Devi was involved in the planning and set up of a new facility in Kingston during the 1980's as previously only Caulfield did rehabilitation. Devi then became a consultant and wrote her thesis on Continuous Improvement in Aged care for which she received an award from then Health Minister Julie Bishop in 2005. Devi then became a Senior Nurse adviser and Administrator of over 14 Nursing Homes and moved to Waverley Hill in 2016.

Devi also runs an RTO (Regional Training organization) teaching First Aid, CPR and Environmental management to students, particularly those entering the Disability sector.

Parking is available in the main car park to the north of St Heliers Street which is across
the road from the main entrance into the Abbotsford Convent
.

On the day, you will be provided with lunch, clinical information from the presentation, a copy of the powerpoint and you'll be emailed your CPD certificate.

Unfortunately we are unable to refund a booking fee or the ticket cost due to inability to attend.
