Event description

Description

2015, rated M.

Discover the fascinating story of mid-20th century Indo-Pakistani author and playwright, Saadat Hassan Manto.

Manto, recognised as one of South Asia’s greatest ever short story authors, published controversial works about the Partition of India, which saw him accused of obscenity more than once. This film traces the last seven years of his life, which coincide with the aftermath of the Partition.

Join for a short reading of actual Partition stories and a prayer to honour the victims after the film.
