Description

What makes Moreton Bay mangroves so special and why are they monitored? To find out why, and how, join with Wildlife Queensland Coastal Citizen Scientists on a trip to Tingalpa Creek to collect anothe ryear of annual monitoring data.

During this session, you will be introduced to MangroveWatch shoreline video assessment method and help collect data on fringing mangroves around the Manly area.

By being part of these ‘watch’ programs you can SEE the habitats, SCORE their conditions, and SAVE them by contributing to more informed management.


FAQs

Are there requirements for the event?

Participants must be comfortable on small boats; must wear close-toe shoes that are able to get wet; be sun smart; and, carry drinking water. This is a commercial vessel that complies with Australian Maritime Safety survey requirements. Participants must be 12 years of age or older, and those under 18 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Parking and toilets are available at the Wynnum-Redland Canoe Club. Please meet the vessel at the boat ramp for a short boat trip for monitoring activities.
