Event description

Description

How do you respond when one of your staff isn’t making the grade? Managing underperformance can be uncomfortable, but it is essential to a productive and highly functioning workforce.

Designed with managers and supervisors in mind, this workshop will teach you how to identify, manage and improve employee performance, while protecting your organisation from claims in the Fair Work Commission and Courts. Through role play and open discussions, participants will learn transferable skills and best practice responses to apply to your own workplace.

We will cover:

  • How to identify performance issues and the reasons employees may be underperforming
  • How to distinguish between performance issues and conduct issues, and how management responses may differ for each
  • The different stages of performance management, from informal feedback to performance improvement plans, and disciplinary action
  • Skills practice in having difficult conversations and planning for a performance conversation
  • How to minimise the risk of a complaint or claim being made by the employee

Please note:

  • All our workshops are held in the Polding Centre unless advised otherwise.
  • Registration will be available 4 weeks prior to each workshop.
  • Some training courses may incur a fee. The fee will be advised on the registration page.
  • Some courses can be made available in regional areas, subject to demand.
  • CCER may also be able to provide in-house training on request.
  • In addition to our available workshops, further training and other professional development opportunities, including webinars and briefings, may be offered throughout the year.
