Description

Do you work with students who can be tricky to manage? Do you want to explore ways to work with students who have a trauma background or display challenging behaviours at school?

Well come along to:

Managing Truama and Challenging Behaviours in the Classroom

This highly engaging, hands on full-day workshop will explore the preventative strategies that assist students with challenging behaviours to be more successful at school. De-escalation strategies and Sensory Intervention techniques will be explored. A step-by-step management plan for when things get difficult and proactive behaviour support plans will also be covered.


About the presenter:

Matthew Di Domenica is a qualified teacher with a Master of Education (Special Education, Inclusion & Early Intervention). He has worked in both Mainstream and Special Education settings. Matthew has worked at the Austin School for 6 years in the Child Inpatient Program, Social Education Program and Social Skills Program.




This workshop is appropriate for all school staff including Teachers & ES. The session also meets the VIT Special Needs PD requirement.



A light morning tea & lunch will be provided.
