Description
This four hour course is designed to give real estate employers and managers an introduction to the skills required to improve employees’ performance, or if termination is needed, how to follow a process that will stand-up in the Fair Work Commission.
Performance management is one of, if not the most, important duties performed by managers/principals in the real estate industry. This is even more so with the change to the Real Estate Award 2010, introduced in April 2018 which requires, from April 2019 onwards, a commission only salesperson’s salary to be reviewed each twelve months to ensure that they can maintain their status of commission only.
However in current times, it is crucial that real estate employers and managers are aware of their role in ensuring the organisation gets its processes right and is compliant with the complex issues surrounding Industrial Relations.
From talking to someone about coming in on-time to sacking them for stealing, managing people who don’t do their jobs properly is always a headache for managers and supervisors. However, it is worth taking the time to get it right. When performance management is not done well, everyone suffers and the organisation can end up dealing with the legal fall-out.
The course covers the following topics
- Robust Performance Management Process
- Performance Counselling
- Providing feedback effectively
- Performance Investigations
- Performance Discipline
