Description

This multidisciplinary course has been tailored for non-vestibular audiologists, physiotherapists and general practitioners looking to refresh on the fundamental principles of vestibular function, assessment and rehabilitation. The course will comprise of a four-hour session presented by Maddison Brennan, a practicing vestibular audiologist, and Melissa Aisbett, an experienced physiotherapist in the field of vestibular rehabilitation therapy.

In a standard patient consultation setting, interpretation of vestibular results and the implications for clients can be challenging. This course aims to provide practitioners with a basic understanding of the terminology and testing used in vestibular audiology, providing them with the confidence to accurately interpret vestibular reports. The course will also feature the practical management of the dizzy patient, detailing what actually happens when client is referred for vestibular rehabilitation training.

Additionally, the course aims to develop the clinical skills necessary for appropriate referral of the dizzy patient and highlight the importance of a multidisciplinary approach. The course will also include a practical session for BPPV assessment and management, including a chair based BPPV screening tool that can be utilised in standard audiology or GP clinics.

This Course has been Accredited by:
