Have you ever felt you can't keep the momentum going in your business?

You struggle to make goals and reach them.
You feel tired and discouraged when you don't manage to finish the ever growing to do list.
You don't know how to manage the work, plus promoting the business, plus all the day to day tasks of running a business.
You may have a day job or family or study to manage and life gets in the way.

This session will give you a range of tips and tricks that will help you discover how to maintain momentum in your business and move forward.

Speaker: Kylie Hancox

Kylie is a business coach and consultant, who works with her clients to create bespoke business solutions that specifically address their unique business situation. She helps her clients to identify and leverage the ‘critical element’ in their business — that one item, which, when focused on to the exclusion of all other things, improves everything.

The Business of Being Creative is a series of mini-masterclasses for creatives who would like to do what they love ALL THE TIME.


What are the event dates and times?
Each event will be held on a Saturday morning from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.
Ticket sales will close 8 days before each event to allow for catering orders.

The event dates are:

  • 28th September 2019  - Purchase your tickets by 20th September

  • 5th October 2019   - Purchase your tickets by 27th September

  • 16th November 2019  - Purchase your tickets by 9th November

  • 18th January 2020  - Purchase your tickets by 10th January

  • 22nd February 2020  - Purchase your tickets by 14th February

  • 21st March 2020  - Purchase your tickets by 13th March

  • 18th April 2020  - Purchase your tickets by 9th April

  • 30th May 2020  - Purchase your tickets by 22nd May

  • 20th June 2020  - Purchase your tickets by 12th June

  • 18th July 2020  - Purchase your tickets by 10th July

Can I attend even though I'm not a creative business or hobbiest?

While the mini-masterclasses are designed for creatives, all types of businesses can benefit from the information, and you are welcome to attend.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There is plenty of free off-street parking at the venue.

It is a 20 minute walk from Wellington Point Train Station and there are bus stops nearby.

Can I purchase a ticket on the day?
As we will have morning tea for each event, we need to close RSVP’s a week before each mini-masterclass.

All tickets will be sold online.

 How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

 What's the refund policy?
There is no refund of tickets, due to venue policy for catering numbers notification. However, you can transfer your ticket to a friend.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
Yes, see above.

 Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Applause Genie are a sustainable organisation and we would prefer you didn't print your ticket. We will have a list of guests to be checked off at the door.

Are the sessions catered? Will there be food that suits my dietary requirements?
Yes, there will be morning tea with a choice of tea or coffee with a cake or slice. 
Those with particular dietary requirements will be catered for.

Andrea has been on the frontline of the creative industries in both creative and management sectors for the past 20 years, which has seen her excel as a graphic artist, venue and band manager for some of Queensland’s most iconic venues and artists.


Andrea’s wealth of knowledge and the hands-on experience gained has allowed her to educate and mentor the current and future creative generation, helping them to shortcut their success in their own creative career.


Having started working in the music industry quite by chance, running the iconic original music venue The Orient Hotel and nurturing acts and musicians such as Powderfinger, Screamfeeder, Custard and Regurgitator – this unique experience has accentuated her repertoire to becoming the Success Strategist that every creative deserves.


Since 1996, as a creative-business educator Andrea has trained thousands of students, many who have since travelled all over the world pursuing their talents and building a successful business for themselves, all from the support and lessons from Andrea.


Graduates include well-known artists such as multiple Queensland Music award winning 8 Ball Aitken, Jen Boyce – Ball Park Music, and award-winning composer Donna Dyson, Larrikin Puppets Brett Hansen, Choreographer Claire Marshall and staff at APRA AMCOS, Splendour in the Grass, Dew Process, Secret Service, The Old Museum and more.


As a passionate creative herself, Andrea continues to pursue her own art projects which include graphic design, illustration and hand-lettering. One of the highlights of her artistic career was to have her hand-lettered flyers created for her music venues now residing in the State Library Heritage Music Collection at john Oxley Library, Southbank, Queensland.


As a Success Strategist for Creatives, Andrea has a passion for helping performing, visual and craft artists become more sustainable as a business. She manages regular mentoring sessions and events and is currently writing a book on copyright for small business.
