Event description

Description

Support for Students and Staff is a critical core element of a Whole of School approach to Respectful Relationships. Therefore this 'Train-the-trainer' workshop will build the knowledge and skills of school staff to be able to recognise and respond to family violence and refer appropriately to internal and external services.

Schools are encouraged to nominate two representatives to this workshop. Please register for one date only- each workshop is identical. Upon completion of the training, the representatives will facilitate whole of staff briefings at their respective school.

The training will utilise Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria resources, coordinated with our Regional Integrated Family Violence Coordinator and led by an experienced trainer.

Outline

Family violence – definitions, prevalence, indicators, myths, impacts, gendered dynamics
Key steps to support – asking direct questions, respond, consult, explain, refer
