1 day workshop - 4 May 2018

This workshop will assist clinicians in emergency departments and crisis assessment teams (CAT) manage clients diagnosed with BPD who present with deliberate self-harm or threats to suicide. Participants will learn about the National Health and Medical Research Council’s guidelines for crisis management and risk assessment to develop sophisticated decision making when these clients present in their practice.

Presenters: Dr Charlotte Duncan and Pip Bradley

Dr Charlotte Duncan is a consultant psychiatrist for Spectrum with an interest in psychotherapy, personality disorder and the treatment of complex clients. She has worked in community and forensic settings in the past and with Spectrum for 3 years where she has had experience in psychodynamic, MBT, DBT and ACT therapeutic work with clients with BPD.

Pip Bradley has a background of 20 years’ experience in mental health nursing, most of those specialising in the treatment of borderline personality disorder. Her main treatment modality is dialectal behaviour therapy. Pip provides therapy, training, consultation and supervision regarding complex presentations and therapeutic risk management, as well as training and supervision in DBT.

Who should register? Emergency department staff, crisis assessment teams (CAT) and mental health clinicians

Cost: $220 (Payable by credit card only).

Lunch: A light lunch including a vegetarian selection is provided.

A refund will not be issued if notification has not been received within this time frame and you will be required to pay for the event.
