Event description

Description

Car parking has a big influence on how people get around in our communities. Providing low or no cost parking supports car use. As well as biasing travel choices, parking has other costs for everyone including employers and local governments.

Changing how parking is managed can be challenging but is critical to realise healthier, sustainable travel patterns in our cities. Join in this Your Move Forum to explore car parking, what it means for active transport and what you can do as a Your Move champion.

Hear from local practitioners with lots of experience grappling with parking issues - Dean Cracknell, CEO of the Town Teams Movement and Jacob Martin, Transport Planning team leader at Cardno. Discuss strategies with people from other councils and workplaces and enjoy networking at morning tea.
