Description

Course content

This course will equip you with the skills and confidence to manage your own behavioural insights (BI) project. Participants will undertake an interactive learning experience, helping participants to:

  • Understand the needs of a BI project
  • Target behaviour change and BI problems

Participants will also learn about common constraints in managing behavioural insights projects, what to look out for, and where to seek assistance.

This workshop is suitable for project managers who may wish to engage an external supplier to undertake BI project work (recommended for VPS5-EO3/STS).

Course facilitators

The Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) will facilitate this workshop.

  • Dr. Karen Tindall is a Senior Advisor with BIT Australia, focusing on health, community resilience, and charitable giving. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the Australian National University, in the field of public sector crisis management. Prior to joining the Behavioural Insights Team, Karen was a postdoctoral research fellow at the ANU Research School of Psychology. Her research focused on a social identity approach to behaviour change, in particular how group-based identities can inform behavioural science approaches to behaviour change in public policy.
  • Dr. Veronica Quinn is an Advisor with BIT Australia. Prior to joining the team, she completed a PhD in Psychological Science at the University of Sydney, employing behavioural interventions to reduce unpleasant treatment side effects. Veronica also held a postdoctoral fellowship in behavioural science with the University of New South Wales and Sydney Children’s Hospital. Her work has included trialling the best method of delivering genetic education and results, facilitating medical decision making and reducing post-treatment anxieties. In addition, she has experience of teaching statistics, learning and neuroscience.
