About this event

MAPA (Previously Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention) has been designed to enhance staff’s understanding and management of disruptive, aggressive, and/or violent behaviour and aims to ensure that everyone involved in crisis situations can maintain the Care, Welfare, Safety and Security of all involved.

Learning intentions for staff from this training:

• Boost confidence to defuse potentially challenging situations

• Equip them with the skills to appropriately physically intervene

• Reduce the risk of physical injury and accidents

• Strengthen the relationships between colleagues and with those in your care

Outcomes for students:

• Maintain their dignity at all times

• Provide a positive and respectful environment

• Guide them towards making positive behaviour choices

• Develop their coping skills for difficult situations.
