Making Meadow Friends: Homeschool Craft Program

By Solstice Fibre

Overview

A homeschool daytime craft class where children explore needle felting and create their own woolly meadow friend.

Join local fibre artist Cristina from Solstice Fibre at the Hillview Intercultural Community Centre for a fun, hands-on creative series! Children aged 7+ will bring creatures, critters, characters, and tiny worlds to life using wool through the slow art of needle felting.

In this class, children will be invited to explore:
🍄 Shaping and sculpting with wool and a barbed needle to create their own felted friend.
🧚Engaging in storytelling, creating tales where their furry friends would live in the meadow.

🐝Mindful handwork, while fostering creativity and creating community.

This craft class is perfect for young makers and offers a gentle, imaginative space to slow down, imagine, and explore a new craft medium. Children will work 100% sheeps wool roving to craft their meadow friends, enjoying an eco-friendly craft experience.

Families are welcome with an understanding of little siblings coming along. Please note that this class will be catered to ages 7 and above, with guardians being present.
