Event description

Description

With a focus on competing world views, this workshop will look at how diverse perspectives, backgrounds and lifestyles can be leveraged to drive successful business outcomes.

We don’t all see the world in the same way.

This workshop will focus on the principles that underlie a truly inclusive and diverse workplace through the presentation of research and sharing of perspectives from competing world viewpoints.

An industry panel will discuss how HR practitioners can leverage differences in the workplace and harness diversity to make their organisation more profitable, innovative and collaborative.

The workshop will be facilitated by Professor Mark Rose who will provide insight into workplace diversity and inclusion from an Aboriginal perspective.

Dr Raymond Trau will present his research findings around workplace diversity, stigma and stigmatisation in the workplace from the viewpoint of LGBTI employees.

Dr Margaret Heffernan, O.A.M a committee member of the RMIT Women's Researcher Network (WRN) with an interest in the evaluation of gender equity policies, will share her insights and solutions on workplace gender equality through a multifaceted approach.

Industry workshop panel will include;

  • Michael Lacy, Head of Community, Richmond Football Club

  • Dr Corinne Manning, Director Culture and Transformation, Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board

    • Angus Lade, Diversity and Inclusion Consultant, PwC

    • Luke Cornelius APM, Assistant Commissioner, Victoria Police
