Solar is here and batteries are coming…is now the right time to invest? Meet local experts who can help you cut through the hype and work out what makes sense for you.


This workshop is for all residents or businesses considering installing solar or battery storage. Topics include:

-correctly sizing your solar system for maximum benefit

-how smart metering can help you make smart choices

-making the most of your solar energy through equipment controls

-weighing up the battery option


Presenters:

- Energy Queensland - Michelle Taylor, Manager Intelligent Grid New Technology

Michelle manages the new technologies department of Energy Queensland. She also sits on the Australian Standards committee that writes standards for solar arrays, battery systems and inverters. She has a long history with stand-alone and grid connected solar systems and more recently grid connected battery energy storage systems.


- Cairns Regional Council - Daniel Stronggrove, Energy Management and Sustainability Advisor

Daniel manages the Cairns Regional Council’s Energy Management program. This includes Council’s electricity metering and data management, building energy efficiency and renewable energy programs.
