Event description

Description

Channel your inner Australian 'Betty Draper' from 'Mad Men' and come with me on this walk and talk through of the two corner displays at AGSA of integrated furniture, art and decorative art in Gallery Six. Learn about the forgotten masters of Australian mid century modern design, like Grant Featherstone and Schulim Krimper. Also 'meet' the visual artists who were working alongside in the same post War period to break down predjudice against abstraction and internationalism such as Grace Crowley, Ralph Balson, Stan Ostoja-Kotkowski AM and others. This is fun, lively hour long session for those who want to delve behind the art museum wall texts and get more of a background on the modern period period in Australian design. No previous knowledge needed. Meeting in Gallery Six at about 10.05am.
