This Skill Set training targets team leaders and/or supervisors to strengthen their skills to support team members in Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN)



Hobart Dates: Tuesday 22nd August and Tuesday 26th August

Time: 9.30 - 3.30 pm

Where: Venue will be advised by email once confirmed.




The Train the Trainer program will give you the opportunity to learn about:

  • What we mean by literacy in the Disability Sector
  • The literacy needs the Workplace Literacy Project training resources can address
  • Where to refer people to who need further literacy training
  • Adult learning principles
  • Learning styles
  • The learning cycle and developing literacy skills

You will develop practical skills to:

  • Plan and organise a literacy training session
  • Engage learners to participate in the learning activities
  • Manage group dynamics and create a positive learning environment
  • Evaluate your training sessions
  • Create a literacy session using your workplace documents

The training involves:

  • 2 full day face to face sessions (5 weeks apart)
  • Delivering a training session using a Workplace Literacy Project resource in your workplace at a team meeting
  • Planning a workplace literacy training session using your workplace resources

Morning tea, a light lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.
