Matriark Theatre – Waterloo Library Artists in Residence

Matriark Theatre presents Flights of Fancy, an original performance adaptation of the children’s story, There Is a Tribe of Kids, adapted by Matriark Theatre from the book by Lane Smith, published by Roaring Brook Press.

For ages 3+

Cubetto is a playful wooden robot helping kids discover programming through storytelling and collaboration. Using a hands-on, block-based programming language, it’s the first coding toy to work without a screen.

For ages 6+

Create your own robot with our Edison Robots. Compatible with Lego products, attach the bricks to the top and bottom, and the pegs to the sides of the robot.

Sphero is the world's first app-enabled robotic ball. Drive the spheros through different obstacles courses or challenge a buddy to a race around a track.

All Ages

Use different objects and circuits to create your own Chain Reaction Machine. Inspired by the Rube Goldberg machine, engineer a gadget, just like the American inventor. Then, set off the contraption built by the next team and become part of a wider project.

This free event is suitable families and anyone keen to try out our new makerspace collection available to borrow in December. Bookings are essential and for the activities with limited capacity – it’s first in best dressed. Parents or guardians will need to accompany children.

Waterloo Library is wheelchair friendly.
