Event description

Description

This listing is for the KEY WALLET leatherworks project (please see our other listings via our website for the wrist watch or toiletries bag kit - www.brickandmortarcreative.com.au/whatson).

Dreaming of making your own leathergoods? Don’t know where to start? Bec Fogarty from Hammered Leatherworks specialises in teaching you exactly this through their maker kits. Winging her way from Western Australia for this one time only event she will teach you how to sew leather using precut and pre punched pieces that will bring you serious satisfaction.

In this 90 minute* workshop you can choose from a key wallet, wrist watch or toiletries bag kit. All available in Natural, Navy, Olive, Tan or Black leather. This listing is for the KEY WALLET leatherworks project (please see our other listings via our website for the wrist watch or toiletries bag kit). We will be in touch before the workshop to confirm your choice of colour.

Bec will teach you the traditional saddle stitch technique, go through construction techniques, explain specialist supplies as well as answer any questions you may have. As an added bonus Bec will be bringing her alphabet embossing set for personalising your creation.

Light refreshments will be on offer to stop those tummy grumbles getting you down after work.

*Please note not everyone may finish their project in the allowed 90 minutes. Absolutely yes on the key hoodie, and the committed stitcher will definitely finish the watch, however the toiletries bag being a larger project may need to be finished at home which is easily completed via Hammered Leatherworks video tutorials.

FAQs

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Brick+Mortar is on George St, just off The Parade in Norwood, behind the Town Hall. There is plenty of on-street 2 hour free parking (but plenty of parking inspectors so beware!), and the open air paid carpark above Foodland (access off Webbe St) has all day parking for only $6. Bus routes run up The Parade regularly and the closest bus stop is just before the Town Hall.

Can I take coffee into my workshop?

Of course! We have a full cafe on the ground floor, so just make sure you arrive in time to order your coffee and you can take it in with you. We don't encourage food in workshops unless catering is included in the ticketing, but you're welcome to have a bite to eat in our cafe before or after your class, we're open 8am-5pm Monday to Saturday and 10-4 Sunday.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

For any questions about the class content please contact workshop host Rebecca, for questions about the venue please call 0452 140 849 or email hello@brickandmortarcreative.com.au.

What's the refund policy?

Tickets are non-refundable, but if you're unable to make it please let us know in case we have a waitlist, or you can always give your ticket to a friend!

What other kind of workshops do you offer?

We offer everything from creative to professional development to bespoke private workshops and events. Check our website www.brickandmortarcreative.com.au to see what's on and contact us at hello@brickandmortarcreative.com.au if you'd like to book a custom workshop or event.
