Event description

Description

Guided by Sue, you will create pendants using two bead making traditions. You will recycle everyday materials such as soft metal, paper, leather and fabric into contemporary jewellery.

The tradition of paper bead making began in Victorian England in the late 1800’s. Recycled paper bead making also has a long history in Africa. It plays an important role there today as a source of income for women, enabling them to create micro-businesses that help support their families.
