Event description

"Cooking (from scratch) is the single most important thing we could do as a family to improve our health and general well being” – Michael Pollan

There is something wonderful about making your own food from scratch. It is all about getting back to what our grandparents did and reviving an art that is slowly vanishing.

Making our own food means we know exactly what we are consuming and where it came from. We know that the ingredients are good quality, organic where possible and best of all free from chemicals, preservatives, extra sugar and salt. You are in control of what goes in your body.

Join us for a relaxing and fun day our on our property in the Perth Hills that is all about slowing down, getting back to simplicity and savouring the satisfaction and pride that accompanies creating wholesome food from scratch.

After a tasty morning tea, stretch your legs wandering around our gardens and orchards, taking in the peaceful and tranquil surroundings before we begin in the kitchen.

In this workshop, you will learn how to make some simple pantry staples - all made from scratch, and leave with the confidence to make them at home.

After working in the kitchen, we will sit down and enjoy a long table lunch in the garden.

You will learn how to make:

  • Perfect crunchy seeded crackers

  • Fresh ghee - a very healthy alternative to oil in cooking

  • Crunchy granola

  • Nut milk

  • The tastiest salad dressing

  • Healthy sweet treats

  • Rich raw chocolate

Take home your produce plus all the recipes and notes from the day will be provided.

We will serve a selection of drinks with lunch but if you would like to enjoy some wine, please feel free to bring some along.

Places are limited to 10 people.
