Machu Picchu and Beyond

The Incan hideaway of Machu Picchu has sparked our imaginations for generations. Join us on this wonderful night of Peruvian food to satisfy our bodies and Peruvian adventures to satify the soul. We will feast on a 13 course menu in a private dining lounge at the wonderful Pastuso in Melbourne. During the feast, Peter Miller from No Roads Expeditions will describe some of the great adventures you can experience on your journey to the famed Machu Picchu.
If you have ever wanted to trek to Machu Picchu, then this is the night to have all your questions answered. Should I do the Sacred Valley trek and why in 5 days rather than 4? What is the Secret Trail to Machu Picchu? What about rafting and cycling can I do these too? And what about after my trek, where should I go; Lake Titicaca, Colca Canyon, Lima?
Our feast will consist of the following:
CANCHA - Dry roasted Andean corn kernals
PERUANO - Ruby red snapper cured in lemon juice with caramelized sweet potato and cancha
SALMON – Ora King salmon with a sour orange dressing, Amazonian chillies and plantain chips
VEGETARIANO – Silken tofu, seaweed, fried shallots and jalapeños
ANTICUCHOS – Beef loin and fish skewers with grilled vegetables, huacatay and aji amarillo sauce
CAUSA DE POLLO – Aji mirasol marinated chicken causa on a yellow potato base with, avocado and
BIFE ANGOSTO — Gippsland Natural 30 dry aged striploin., grilled on the parrilla
EL POLLO — 1/2 chicken smoked and roasted served with a traditional aji amarillo and
ENSALADA TROPICAL –Red butter lettuce, radichio, pickled star fruit, candied hazlenuts and
YUCAS – Fried cassava chips with spicy rocoto mayonnaise
PAN DE QUINOA – House made quinoa bread served with infused olive oil
SUSPIRO A LA LIMEÑA – Creamy caramel, sherry marinated currants and Pedro Ximenez meringue
BESO DE CHOCOLATE – 72% Dark Peruvian chocolate, sour cherries caramelised brazil nuts
