Description

Event flyer
Join Matty and Jarman from Men Imitating Machines for a workshop, live performance and hands on jam session which focuses on using bass, guitar, drums and MIDI controllers to control Ableton Live. This is an introductory workshop open to all ages and skill levels.

Men Imitating Machines are a Melbourne based two piece live electronic band. They have toured widely around the world, spreading their unique brand of live electronica and running workshops along the way! They have gleaned much during their travels from other live sonic innovators and are keen to share all they know!

Below: One of M.I.M's video clips showing their (none to serious) approach to live electronica. You can check out more music video's here and instructional/workshop videos here.

Who might like this workshop?

-Guitar and bass players interested in effects and the possibility of using MIDI. M.I.M will be demonstrating the Australian built Industrial Radio MIDI bass and MIDI guitar at the workshop.

-Drummers interested in using MIDI to expand their playing beyond just beats.

-People interested in Ableton, or current Ableton users, who are interested in using the program specifically for live performance without the use of clips, loops or a backing track.

This workshop is by donation. Your donation will help M.I.M return to Europe in 2016 and continue to spread the love with future workshops.
