MA Annual General Meeting 2020 - 20th of October

About this Event

We look forward to hosting for our members this years AGM.

Due to Covid Restrictions this will be an online AGM with access via Zoom.

The debate surrounding AHPRA registration has often floated in and out of forum discussions, MA events and over a friendly cuppa. However, COVID seems to have fuelled that fire again, particularly as it seems government often defaults to AHPRA registered health professionals when considering who can and cannot practice during the various lockdown stages.

So what does it mean to be a registered profession? And can we truly move forward as a health profession if we are not? Read more about 'what is registration' at

Is registration the holy grail to solving all our challenges we as a profession often face? From endorsed care plans to GST, private health rebates, allied health lists to myotherapy specific item codes.

Would AHPRA registration support our profession in reaching these milestones? And if it's not AHPRA, what is it?

In an effort to provide our members with a balanced and informative discussion, we are excited to have the CEO's of Osteopathy Australia - Antony Nicholas and ESSA - Anita Hobson-Powell join us to discuss what it means to be registered and what it means not to be.

This is a discussion you do not want to miss. The floor will be open for your questions.

MA Board Nominations

Expressions of interest are closed for those considering joining the MA Board, and we were absolutely delighted with the response. You will have an opportunity to meet your current and new board members and thank those that will be vacating their positions from the board. Newly 'elected' members are to be voted in by our membership. Read about newly nominated board members at

Should you be unable to attend, you can complete a Proxy Voting Form so that a colleague may vote on your behalf and return to no later than 24 hours prior to the commencement of the meeting (in the case where this falls on a Sunday, please submit by the Friday prior to the meeting). A member may appoint another member as his or her proxy to vote and speak on his or her behalf at a general meeting other than at a disciplinary appeal meeting. (Download MA rules, view page 13 for Proxies)

Proxy Form can be downloaded at [link]
