Event description

Description

You are invited to a lunch conversation with Dr Jane Kuepfer and Ilsa Hampton, CEO of Meaningful Ageing Australia, and hosted by Mercy Health.

Jane is the Schlegel Specialist in Spirituality and Ageing from Conrad Grebel University College in Canada and is on the committee for the International Conference on Ageing and Spirituality. Earlier this year, she contributed an article to our newsletter, in which she highlighted how, "Our societies share many similarities, as places of beautiful and sometimes complex diversity, with indigenous people, descendants of settlers from generations past, and recent immigrants sharing this land together."

With such shared similarities, her knowledge and experience of the successes and challenges for integrated spiritual care will be both invaluable and stimulating for all of us.

Meaningful Ageing Australia will also be launching its new resource The Map of Meaning and Ageing.

The Map of Meaning is a simple framework that captures the dimensions that makes work and life meaningful. It offers a powerful approach to constructively impact the experience of getting older.

Based on research and tested in the field over the past twenty years, the Map of Meaning meets the needs of the mind for a rational sense-making tool, while intuitively feeling right. It helps us give words to the strong feelings that arise from our experience of meaningfulness, and loss of meaning; and it is a social framework, one that increases our sense of connection with others.

To be part of the conversation, register now.
