Description

LSAdvance

The Lifetime Support Authority (LSA) delivers the South Australian Government’s Lifetime Support Scheme (LSS). The LSS is a no-fault scheme which provides treatment, care and support for people who suffer very serious injuries in motor vehicle accidents in South Australia. Our Research, Education and Programs (REP) aim to strengthen the quality of services provided to participants in the LSS and to contribute to the body of knowledge in the disability and health sectors.

Join us for an insightful evening of presentations from REP grantees who will showcase their research and outcomes.

UniSA - Grant Dignity of Risk in Living with Brain Injury.

The project explores how people living with a moderate to severe brain injury can have a full life, including the dignity to take risks that are part of living. It considers if health professionals set overly protective or conservative restrictions that mitigate risk, which is part of everyday life. Occupational therapists and physiotherapists were asked about how they understand risk, balance community safety, and support personal growth when working with people living with brain injury.

Determined2 – Controlled Immersion Therapy.

Determined2 runs a Controlled Immersion Therapy program which offers people with a disability a tightly controlled form of hydrotherapy. In this purpose-designed program, Determined2 uses scuba diving equipment in a swimming pool to give people the experience of floating or weightlessness, as well as physical exercise.

UniSA - Costs, Benefits and Outcomes of Advanced Technology Vehicle Modification.

This research project looked at how to increase knowledge about complex vehicle modification, including a thorough Social Return on Investment analysis of vehicle modification practices.
