New Dates: 4th-5th-6th November 2016
The Lower Lakes Stockman’s Challenge & Bush Festival has been postponed. The excessive rainfall has made the conditions unsafe for our competitors and their horses this weekend so we’ll give it a few weeks to dry out and then everyone can enjoy the thrill of the Challenge and the fun of the Festival entertainment.
This event brings together the top national competitors in Aussie bush heritage events and is a must see!
The Australian Bush Stockman would often be alone for weeks patrolling fence-lines, or droving with a handful of mates for hundreds of miles in almost uninhabited country. These were the bush pioneers whose proficiency was developed as a simple matter of survival in a harsh land; they gave us our heritage, they were Legends!
The Lower Lakes Stockman’s Challenge and Bush Festival is a 3 day event held in Strathalbyn, South Australia with local and interstate competitors showcasing their skills in whip cracking, bareback obstacles, stock handling, packhorse, horse shoeing and cross country events.
The partnership between horse and rider, the trust and respect they have for each other, and the way they work together showcases true aussie bush spirit.
The Bush Festival includes amazing Aussie food- Including Camp oven hot roast gravy rolls, animals, free face painting, great hancrafted goods, games, demos, Fleurieu Food & Wine Trail and great live music Friday and Saturday night!
