Love Cannabis?
Overview
Love Cannabis?
This online, ticketed event offers a contemplative space for people who love the plant and want to talk about the hard stuff with care, curiosity, and respect.
This gathering is inspired by the principle attributed to Mary MacKillop: “Never see a need without doing something about it.”
Together, we’ll explore:
- Your personal relationship with cannabis. Everyone is welcome whether you consume, recommend, prescribe, dispense, educate, advocate, or are still finding your role
- How to make decisions that honour your values, your body, and your conscience
- What it means to work with cannabis in healthcare in a way that feels good, rather than resistance
- Who often notice ethical and moral issues earlier, and what to do when others can’t (or won’t) see them and you can
- How to remain regulated in a profit-focused market without leave the space due to discomfort
- What a matriarchal relationship to medicine could mean for the future of cannabis care
- How to name the problem and allow others to sit with their discomfort, without rescuing or over-explaining
What to expect (important participation notes)
This is a live, relational space. To help create safety and trust:
- You will be asked to briefly turn your video on at some point to say hello and verify who you are
- After that, you are welcome to: sit off-camera, stay muted, listen quietly, or participate if and when you feel called
- You may be invited to contribute, there is no pressure to speak
- If you don’t want to say anything, that is completely okay
We will be talking about sensitive topics, and we ask everyone to arrive with presence and kindness.
We respect the space of creation and each other.
Why now?
In the weeks leading up to United in Compassion, one of Australia’s leading medicinal cannabis gatherings, it feels like a good moment to pause and take stock.
With Valentine’s Day as a marker, it's a good time to reflect on our love for the plant:
- what that love asks of us
- what we are willing to stand for
- and where our boundaries are
Love, in this context, is not sentimental.
It is forward-looking and deeply rooted in responsibility and care for future generations.
It is devotional.
It involves intention.
This event is time for you to consider what it truly means to you to work with cannabis in healthcare.
This is a moment to reflect individually, and to connect as a community, as we decide how we show up for future generations in the rooms that matter.
