Hike Details

Saturday hike is graded a 4 and is 20kms so a good level of fitness is required for this one. We will enjoy some truly spectacular falls as well a beautiful lush fern forest. This hike has some challenging components to it. There are slippery sections, quite a few log hopping and climbing, rock surface walking and of course the river crossings.

Sunday hike is graded a 3. This 11km hike follows the beaches and rock shelves between Urquhart Bluff and Split Point Lighthouse. Rock formations, colorful cliffs, clifftop panoramas, rock pools and coastal heath-land all provide contrast and variety along this very scenic section of coastline. Beach walking will be subject to Tide.

Layers are excellent, waterproof clothing is essential for the hikes. Having warm, comfortable clothes for the evening when it may get cold is definitely advised (perhaps thermals). Consider wearing waterproof pants and hiking sticks if you own some as we have four river crossings on the Saturday hike. Strong and sturdy shoes with grip are recommended. This hike includes a large amount of uneven and difficult terrain and river crossings

Hiked will be providing;

Accommodation at the Lorne Bay View Motel for Friday and Saturday nights

Hikes on Saturday and Sunday

Snacks for both hikes

Booking at Lorne Pub for Saturday night dinner (food and drinks not included)
